Installing Inground Trampolines Across the Southeast

The Southeast is our largest installation region by volume and the most geologically diverse. From Florida's high water table to the Appalachian shale and Piedmont clay, every state requires a custom protocol. The upside is unmatched: a 10-month active season in Florida, 8+ months across the Carolinas and Georgia, and no freeze risk below the Piedmont. Our Southeast team has installed in every soil type this region offers, from Mobile Bay sand to the red clay of Metro Atlanta.

Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are ideal across most of the Southeast. Florida and coastal Louisiana allow year-round scheduling, though we avoid peak hurricane season (August–September) for turf establishment. Piedmont clay installs should avoid July–August when extreme heat and humidity stress both crew and sod.

Drainage Strategy

Southeast installations use our most diverse drainage portfolio. Coastal Plain sandy soils get pit liners to prevent wall collapse. Piedmont red clay requires 18–24 inch gravel beds with geotextile separation. Gulf Coast properties receive submersible sump pumps with battery backup. Hurricane-season installs include elevated overflow discharge.

Installation Season

March–November (year-round in Florida and South Gulf Coast)

Average frost depth: Minimal in Florida to 30 inches in Appalachian highlands

Regional Benefits

  • 8–12 month active trampoline season
  • No frost heave risk in the southern half
  • Clay soils provide excellent structural support
  • Year-round warm climate maximizes family use

Primary Soil Types Across the Southeast

The Southeast spans multiple soil provinces. We evaluate your specific property using satellite imagery, USDA soil surveys, and on-site testing to design the right drainage and excavation strategy for your state and county.

Red clay (Piedmont & uplands)

Sandy loam (Coastal Plain)

Alluvial silt (river valleys)

Organic peat & muck (wetlands)

Landscape Integration in the Southeast

The Southeast's lush growing season makes landscape integration stunning. Bermuda and zoysia grasses establish quickly across the region. The long warm season means your sod has months to root before any cold stress. Palm-friendly landscapes in Florida, azalea borders in the Carolinas, and magnolia shading in Georgia all pair beautifully with a flush-grade trampoline.

Pricing in the Southeast

Base pricing across most of the region. Gulf Coast sump pump adds $800–1,200. Coastal engineered fill +15%.

Entry Round

$4,800 – $7,500

8–10 ft round, standard drainage, flush-grade integration.

Family Oval

$7,500 – $11,000

10×14 or 10×17 rectangular, enhanced drainage, landscape finish.

Custom Premium

$11,000 – $14,000+

Larger footprint, complex drainage (sump pump, engineered fill), premium pad and mat, integrated landscaping.

Southeast Inground Trampoline FAQ

Red clay is structurally excellent but slow-draining. Our Southeast protocol includes bowl-shaped pits (not straight-sided), 18–24 inch gravel beds, and geotextile fabric between clay and drain rock. The clay's expansion pressure is managed by the pit geometry. Once drained, Piedmont clay supports the frame better than almost any soil in the country.

Coastal installations receive our full storm engineering package: elevated discharge design, submersible sump with battery backup, pit liner to prevent sand collapse, and storm-rated drainage components. We evaluate FEMA flood zone status before quoting. Inground trampolines handle wind better than above-ground units since there are no upright structures to catch gusts.

Not at all — it's our most common Southeast condition. Every Florida install gets a sump pump. We've installed successfully in water tables as shallow as 18 inches. The key is not avoiding water but managing it. Our Florida protocol includes oversized French drains, treated aggregate, and marine-grade materials.

We use treated aggregate and specify ant-resistant geotextile wraps in fire ant zones. Annual maintenance includes gravel bed inspection. Fire ants prefer undisturbed soil — a properly maintained drainage bed is not ideal habitat.
