Installing Inground Trampolines Across the South Central
The South Central region is our highest-volume market and our most geologically complex. Texas alone spans five distinct soil provinces, from East Texas sand to the infamous Blackland Prairie clay. Oklahoma splits between eastern red clay and western sandy loam. New Mexico adds caliche and high-elevation desert. Every major metro — Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Albuquerque — has its own engineering profile. The payoff is enormous: no freeze risk, large lots, and a culture that loves outdoor living.
October through April is ideal for most of the region. We avoid June through August across the entire South Central region because sod cannot root in 110°F+ heat. South Texas has the longest window. Hill Country caliche sites are easiest in dry months. Spring severe weather (March–May) can cause tornado-related delays in Oklahoma and North Texas. Gulf Coast properties should avoid August–September peak hurricane season for turf establishment.
Drainage Strategy
South Central drainage varies dramatically by location. East Texas gets standard French drains in excellent sandy loam. Central Texas black clay requires our most robust clay protocol: over-excavation, 24-inch gravel bed, geotextile, floating frame design, and flexible connections. West Texas and New Mexico caliche may require jackhammering or a raised-partial-inground hybrid. Gulf Coast properties get sump pumps with storm-rated discharge.

Landscape Integration in the South Central
The South Central region's outdoor culture makes landscape integration natural. St. Augustine and Bermuda grasses dominate Texas lawns and establish beautifully around a flush-grade trampoline. Oklahoma's tall fescue and Kentucky bluegrass do the same. The warm climate means your sod has months to root deeply. In Texas, the trampoline becomes part of the outdoor kitchen and pool area — a seamless entertainment zone.

South Central Inground Trampoline FAQ
Absolutely not — it's our most common South Central condition. Our Texas clay protocol includes over-excavation, a 24-inch gravel bed, geotextile separation, a floating frame design with flexible connections, and bowl-shaped pit geometry. We've installed hundreds across the Dallas, Austin, and Houston clay belts. The clay's expansion pressure is managed by the pit shape and flexible frame. It's a solved problem.
Shallow caliche (under 12 inches) is jackhammered through. Deep caliche may require relocating the pad or using a raised-partial-inground hybrid design. We evaluate caliche depth with a pre-installation probe. Most Austin and San Antonio hill country sites have manageable caliche. Albuquerque and Las Cruces sometimes require jackhammering, which is built into our New Mexico pricing.
October through April is the sweet spot for Central and North Texas. South Texas has a longer window. We avoid June through August because sod cannot establish in extreme heat. Hill Country sites are best scheduled in dry months (October–April). Gulf Coast properties should avoid peak hurricane season (August–September) for turf establishment.
Inground trampolines are safer in high wind — no upright structure to catch wind. Remove the safety pad if a warning is issued. The frame is unaffected. Oklahoma's red clay (eastern half) is managed with our standard clay protocol. Western Oklahoma's sandy loam is excellent and straightforward.
